Magnetostrictive Displacement Sensors

Magnetostrictive position sensors belong to the group of non-contact sensors. The path is measured using a runner similar to potentiometers, but only a magnet is placed in the runner. The measuring principle itself is contactless. Magnetostrictive sensors are robust, accurate and can measure over a relatively large range - up to several meters. They are not suitable for measuring small distances, below 50 mm. They are often used for measuring in hydraulic cylinders, dampers, etc., where the conditions are demanding in terms of pressure and temperature.
